"Almabtrieb", which is a popular cattle driving event in September, processions on Christian holidays, music events, "Krampuslauf", as well as "Fasching" keep life at the Achensee more than exciting.

For fine liquor enthusiasts, the Edelbrennerei Kostenzer in Maurach delights with the finest spirits, liquors, schnapps, but also whiskey and gin. Beer fans do not want to miss out on the first brewery at the Achensee, which includes tasting of a variety of different Achensee beers.
The Achensee region is famous as the home of Holy Notburga, who was known for defending the poor and weak in the 13th century. At the Notburga museum in Eben/Maurach, guests can find out all about Notburga and her kind deeds.
